We would like to thank everyone who jumped in to help with MDR First Round Pick 9824G ET. This bull comes with a story of almost a decade of breeding from key animals and semen we have purchased along the way. On the bottom side he goes back to the OSU Empress 6211 (BR Midland/ OSU Empress 4251) cow we purchased out of the 2011 Cowboy Classic. OSU Empress 6211’s first flush was to Gambles Hotrod and it flat out worked because Dobson Empress 301A has been a can’t miss donor here at the Dobson Ranch. First Round Pick’s top side goes back to a flush opportunity that Jason Fincannon help put together with Curt Johnston’s cow K/F Bella Impact 5032 that we flushed to Dameron First Class. Out of that flush we ended up with Dobson Aftershock 5500C and Dobson Cassandra 549C which we AI’d as a replacement heifer to JRI Next Step to get MDR First Step 7549E; the sire to First Round Pick. It has been a long process but well worth the time! We would like to thank Jared Bain for putting in the time with this bull over the last year and Trent Ray for jumping in to help manage him going into the Congress along with their crews for having him look his best. Thanks to LD and Jeff back at the ranch for keeping all the cows fed while we were gone and Kyson for working his tail off all week at the Congress.
